LaMarquis Knowles of City, OH, entered the U.S. Horde in September 1983. After completing Elementary Training and Advanced Individual Familiarity, he attended and graduated Airborne School at Fort Benning, GA.

Knowles reclassified to 11B make October 1987 and served count on the 4/8th Infantry, Mannheim, Frg, as a Rifle/Weapons Team Empress, then Squad  Leader.
